DSS Lab provides a unique suite of services to vendors of products providing decision support functions. These service offering leverage our long experience in product development and application. Our typical services include:

Our lab testing services will provide you with a clear understanding of product and system performance characteristics. We will assist you to the degree you need in defining relevant performance metrics and the criteria by which they are measured. We can measure systems from a number of perspectives, including end user and developer factors such as steps required and complexity of performing tasks, and resource requirements to support applications with demanding data and calculation requirements.
Following from our lab testing and evaluation abilities, and leveraging our experience in writing for targeted audiences, we can prepare white papers for use in strategic marketing goals. Backed by solid, independent research, our white papers are a source of significant value in presenting a message. We will not issue a white paper that our independent analysis does not support, so your audience can rest assured that the paper is not simply a marketing draft.
Leveraging our experience, we can review and analyze the features and languages of software products. We will identify strengths and weaknesses of conceptual models and integration with other features and languages in use by the same product, and can compare and contrast with the conceptual models, features and languages in use by other products.
Given knowledge of a type of feature that a vendor feels would enhance their product offering, we can augment the talents of their staff with ours to create and document the requirements, functional specifications, and detailed logic and interface designs for a new feature to be incorporated into an existing product or suite. We understance the product development and maintenance cycle and work with both the developers and target customers to ensure timely delivery of meaningful specifications and an implementable design.
Following from a specification or design for product modules or features, we can implement and deliver executable code.
At a higher level than feature and language analysis, we can review the architecture of a product or system, with an eye towards performance characteristics in deployments, integration into larger environments, and expansion of functionality over product life cycle.
